20 years ago almost to the day, I dated what I thought was the prettiest woman in the world. She figured she was too so I lasted about as long as it took me to go to the next field training exercise.... Ran across her a few times the first couple years and didn't pay much attention to her... Wife and I was in the local BB store yesterday and I saw the back of a woman with a strong resemblance (hair, build, etc).... It turned around and I ducked around the isle and found the wife (met her 16 years ago and she still looks the same (just a little more of her)... Told her where to look and she came back/confirmed it was the same person.... Talk about aging like whipcream............................... She a;ways drank and smoked heavy and wore a lot of makeup. Sure took it's toleJust shook my head, counted my blessings, and moved on.... Now I'm surfing facebook looking for friends I had back then and wishing I had acamera with me today.....

Done now....

(quoted from post at 14:06:52 08/12/11) Sometimes it can be, uh, interesting when you find an old classmate on the facebook.

Just had our 30 year reunion... (I didn't go)... Some aged like wine while others aged like milk......... Couple of girls are still pretty nice looking but the funny thing, the snooty ones back then are the rough ones now.... Starting to have a ball with facebook....

This is interesting, I went to my 30th reunion 2 years ago and took my daughter with me (then wife of 28 years refused to go). First thing I asked my daughter when we walked in was 'who are all these old people?' She just stated 'Think about this Dad!'
Anyhow many of the girls (women) that were "the upper echelon" looked pretty ragged around the edges. Several that didn't have it so good but certainly were not bad people, looked good and several never showed at all. Of course one should not expect "The upper echelon" to change much, now instead of being snooty young people, they are snooty misrable old people that can't accept their lot in life.

going to my 45th next month. This should be interesting as I have not kept in touch with any of them except for one that was my girlfriend when I was 14 before we were in high school. I found her not quite a year ago and couldn't believe my luck. We're meeting at the reunion and sitting together.

Had the same thing happen to me this spring. I have kept in touch with some friens in Germany over the years and in prep for our upcoming trip I started checking Facebook for some others. I came across one that was a brother to the girl I dated and almost married while I was over there. I E-Maile him and we started talking back and forth. Then she e-mailed me and sent some pictures. I tell you what I would not have knowen her if I would have met her on the street. When I knew her she was around 100 lbs and I was 120 lbs now I think she is over 200 but I am 190 so I guess we are even. Her family took me in as one of there own while I was there and we are going to get together while we are there next month. My wife was very suportive of meeting everyone there.

Some folks you find on facebook look the same in their pics now as they did in high school. Folks have alway said I was a pig of some sort over the years. :)

Crum, I graduated, lessee, 42 years ago in a small village class of 24 students. Marilyn and I were classmates. Marilyn was on the lower end of the totem pole as far as status goes. Now 42 years later she weighs less than she did in high school and all of the girls in the upper crust have gone the other way, some dramatically. Marilyn went on to get a degree and become a professional the others tried for awhile but when they found out they were just another fish in the ocean in the real world they dropped out. I never did grow up! Jim

At least Dave, like me, you haven't aged at all since our army days, you are a darn good looking man. Although we share the problems with bending over and lacing and tying our boots.

Well I certainly haven't aged!! I've been told people are reminded of the old F-150 I drive when they see me. The paint is faded, several patches here and there, more dents and scratches than you can count on both hands but still as dependable as the day it was built.
Grandpa often said that "on the judgement day all will stand bare before him". I have to believe that day should prove interesting.
The big reason this topic bacame of interest to me is recently an old friendship was rekindled. A gal I graduated with requested "friending" me on Facebook. I honestly had to get out my old yearbook and look (and search the memory banks), as we were not close friends perse.
As I recall, she was quite shy in school. Chatting back and forth,it turns out she remembered me as about the same. (thankfully I didn't do anything real stupid then).
Now as then, I still don't care to be 'seen' with the most popular people. A true friend though, deserves my full attention.

Don't misunderstand me, we all age, just got a kick out of how much she did.. You're right tho.... I'm a dam goodlookin man..Just ask me.
Still look pretty much the same as I did in school, just a bit more of me.
Weigh the same as I did when I left the army but it's just in different places now.

Oh well............

It is interesting to see how different people have aged. This is the year that most of my high school class turns 60, and since we didn't get around to having a 40th reunion, we decided to have a 42nd reunion! We always were a little wacky and unconventional.

There were people there I had not seen in many years, and some I see all the time. It is surprising how old some of them look and equally surprising how really young a few look. Some have got pretty big, and a few have shrunk a bunch. I am now taller than our best basketball player, who was several inches taller than I was when we graduated. Some have smoked and indulged in other substances and lived hard over the years, and it shows in their appearance now. But I think the most important factor is genetics. Some guys looked old when we were 30. It was a great time to reconnect with friends that I spent so much time with long ago.

My old junior high girlfriend still looks great! I think tomorrow is her 60th birthday...gotta call and congratulate her.

You're only allowed so many "looks credits" per lifetime. Some blow them all in their teens and early 20's. Other "late bloomers" just get better looking with age.

I dated twins (not at the same time) before I met my wife.....Right after I retired from the Army was in a local store. Woman walked up to me and ask if I remembered her. I told her no. Was one of those 5'2" 110 pound twins now about 200 and she was dirty with greasy hair.......I was counting my blessing that day!

True words right there.
