Mx 285 ('05)starting trouble

Bought a used mx285 back in october. Started and ran great during harvest...winter came and noticed it didnt really want to start. We used it to haul grain in january. Then when spring tillage came it would have to turn over 30-35 times before it would fire up (i counted)..had mechanic out he replaced batteries and looked over the starter and everything was fine..if anyone else has had this problem let me know what was wrong and how to solve it. Also it was 75 to 80 degress when trying to start this so no its not from the cold weather.

These newer tractors need to build fuel pressure in the fuel rail before the controller tells the injectors to fire. You have to crank them longer before they will start. You need to have them check that out. They will need to hook up a computer to see what the engine controller is seeing for fuel pressure.

I have not personally worked on any CIH newer than the 8900 series. I have a good friend that is a CIH tech. He is always chatting about the issues he sees. I will ask him if he has any ideas.

Your lucky to have a tech so handy then. Please ask him bout my situation and see what he suggest. Thanks and ill talk to my local dealership about the fuel pressure and such
