which would be better 100 hydro or 656 or 966 for baling been told that either one is a bear in the winter cause they app to frezz up in the cold !

The Hydro 100 and the 966Hydro are basicly the same tractor/the 656 is a smaller tractor-adequet for most balers.I run a 826 hydro-love it!go with the bigger one.you willlike the extra power.

"they app to frezz up in the cold"

Simply put, that is "male bovine excrement" at it's very best.

(At least it was never a problem up here in northern North Dakota, although I DO realize it DOES get colder elsewhere!)

You need one to bale? And you worry about freezing? What kinda of weather you intend to bale in? I suppose around 40-60 below, it will have problems... all diesels will have an issue or 2. Call out to the guys like lyle and Bison who farm at 55 degrees north lat, see what they know, but i know they don't bale in february

OK!!
TOLD THAT THE WATER BUILD UP FROM HOT COLD HOT COLD USE OR WHEN THE OIL IS HOT AND COOLS DOWN
LIKE A 656 GEAR DRIVE THE FLUID WILL GET MILKY
AND SOME TIME FREEZE UP MINE HAS DONE THIS
CHANGED THE FLUID AND THINGS WHERE FINE THATS WHAT I'VE COME ACROSS !

Oh don't worry about that. I used to make hay with a small fleet of antique AC's, every morning the oil looked like a chocolate milk shake. By noon, it all looked like normal oil again. It is your ...relative humidity?? rather than brand of tractor. Again, baling, in summer, this is a nice tranny and all round tractor for the job. In northern Alberta, after Christmas... maybe not the best machine for doing the driveway. If you need to bale hay now, bring it home yesterday. Good luck with it!
