Baler airbags?

I know next to nothing about round balers.What is the function of the airbag?never heard of that feature.How does it work?Thanks,Steve

It's used the same as the long coil springs on some of the older balers. Resembles the air bags on semis, mebbe even the same ones can be used on some balers. They work good. Expensive, but not much more than the regular springs, I'm told.

My baler is low budget, I guess. On mine, each bag has it's own schraeder(sp) valve and you check it with an ordinary air gauge, but I believe that some of the fancier ones had more sophisticated air control.

25 to 40 PSI range on mine. I have only had to replace one on my 20 year old baler.

They compress the hay. Kinda like what the plunger does in a square baler.
