Super Dexta

I just purchased a super dexta and the steering wheel has a lot of play and won"t hardly turn the tires. Does anyone have any suggestions or know if there is an adjustment I can try. Thanks

I know the smaller Fords but not the Fordsons.
I would start by jacking up the front end and inspecting things for looseness or tightness.
Often the spindles haven't been greased in umpteen years and that will make them very stiff to turn. Others here will correct me if I'm wrong but it seems I remember steering parts for that model are hard to come by. Tie rod ends can easily be replaced by welding on new joints. Find a good parts store and they can usually match up the same tapered shank that fits into your steering arms. There should be adjustments on your sector gears too. Loosen the lock nut and adjust them to remove some of the slop.
And don't forget to add oil to the steering box too.
90% of the cause of failure on the Ford steering boxes is lack of lube to the upper bearing.
you might get some better advice on the Fordson board too.

Usually means the steering box needs to be rebuilt, will only know what you need when its dismantled. Might pay to search the "Dexta forum" at "The Fordson Tractor Pages" (fordsontractorpages.nl) TSG.
