Larry,I had the same thing happen, whole sections of certain rows never came up,others are doing well. Bill M.

You need the A farmall so you dont need to be looking behind then getting off the row. Those are almost big enough for the disc hillers.

On the AC Model B we had, just line up the marks on the temp guage and radiator cap with the row.. and away you go

No need to look under or behind the tractor all the time

Potatoes are weird. you can't assume they are dead, as soon as you plant something else over them, they spring up and catch up with the rest. I got some 3 feet tall and falling over, some still under there wondering what an eye is for. Best to not worry about it till November.. yeah I like to cultivate with narrower tires than that too. this is a job where the [10 by's] still have a place on the working farm.

That picture is a good argument for front-mounted cultivators.

Took my little tractor up to my nephew's place awhile back, and drilled about 150 post holes. Couldn't straighten my neck out for a week- finally ended up going to the chiropractor.

Baling is OK, because you only have to turn your head about half way- but having to look constantly at something directly behind really does me in.

I hope some of the ones that are doing pretty good make their way South to Texas!

Looks good to me.

Thanks for sharing your photo with us.

I dug mine a couple of weeks ago, best crop i every had, strange though, i wasnt expecting them to do much with all the dry weather.I probably should have left them a while longer, but the need for new potatoes, fresh green beans and ham overrode common sense!I canned up 14 qts of new potatoes, and had over 100 lbs or so more of them from a 40 ft row.I planted them way back in march though ,read somewhere in one of my old books that they didnt like heat and thats why they didnt do so well here.thinking of planting some this fall and seeing what happens.
