Value of lawn tractor kubota G4200

I'm going to look at a Kubota G4200 tonight with 414 hours. Looks to be in nice shape and the low hours are worth something. It's a one owner unit used only for his own lawn, and was recently fully serviced. They're asking $2000, but a T1600(16hp) recently sold for $1000(or less) but wasn't in quite as good of shape. The same model(G4200) a few hours drive from here also sold for $1000 (or less). What would you think something like this would be worth? Thanks in advance.

I noticed that too. The guy says it was fully serviced and ready to go. I would assume that means the tire is fixed

This spring I bought a G1800 (16 H.P.) , 48" deck , 4 wheel steer , hydraulic deck lift , 750 hrs. , for $2250 from a Kubota dealer.

In my eyes , the machine you are looking at is at least $500 overpriced. I wouldn't let the flat tire be a deal-breaker though. I'd look at more important things like signs that the grease fittings have ever been greased. No signs of grease might be a deal-breaker , even with the low hours.

For that money you can get a brand new, Cub Cadet, 50 inch cut with a 24 hp Kohler or oKaw engine.

Looks fairly clean but the engine is the most important thing watch for easy startup and no light blue smoke. that's a lot of hours on a small engine and the deck bearings could all but gone check it over real good very expensive to fix.

I have sears tire goo in mine never had a flat since it was put in great stuff on small lawn tractors.

The hours aren't that bad really. There is another one advertised on Kijiji with over 1800 hours and one in a review that said it had over 5500 hours before the steering wore out.

Ask a Kubota dealer if you have one nearby what he would give for a trade-in. Then make the seller an offer.
I have a G5200 with 1,500 hours that I got last year. It's a great tractor.

For that much money you could get a new Cub cadet at TSC. With a warranty. But, if you really like the color orange.

I would really rather a Kubota or John Deere diesel, and something that would last me a few years. I'll see what it looks like though, cause for that money it's gotta be near perfect.

Looks like a cheap coke can to me.
I would rather spend that money on a pre eighties JD with a cast iron kohler in it

A $2000 or less new lawn tractor can be nothing but junk.

What makes this mower look so cheap? And I agree on the $2000 new mower problem. No way it can be much good at that price

farmer boy,

Just a thought . . .
The flat tire could be a distraction, for more serious things, done or not done.

Usually the front end/steering is the issue on the older Gs...has loosened up, needs rebuilt. The engines and tranny are fairly bullet proof...Good tractors, but $2000 is plenty...and they will run with an vintage Johnny ya can name.
