I well be in Webster County,West Virgina the week of July 17-23,2011. On Wednesday of that week I would like to vist any antique tractor collectors or slivage yards in that county or near by. I realy like JD but any others are all right. Thank you Harvey

Don't think there is enough flat ground in that part to park 1 tractor, let alone a show

Just kidding....I drove thru that area a couple years ago. Took me forever for stopping to take pictures. New River Gorge area was really nice. Remember tho, that's ALMOST Heaven... You have to go a couple hours west to SE OH to get to Heaven

Think I was only near webster co tho.

Enjoy your trip.

Welcome to YT and to WV Harvy. I live in Wayne CO. Just about as far West as you can get in WV. But don't know about Webster Co.

Harvey, I have lived in WV all my life, wouldn't want to live anywhere else, but I know very little about Webster County. I have lived in Monroe all but the 5 years that I lived in Putnam. Not many tractor salvage yards in WV that I am aware of. Our tractor club members have all brands and sizes of antique tractors, but not a lot of John Deeres. You would be approx. 125 miles from me. If you have time, go to Cass and ride the Shays up the mountain-Check out Green Bank-The Greenbrier- Snowshoe Resort and Blackwater Falls while in the area.Hope you enjoy your stay in the Mountain State.

Harvey,
Welcome to wild wonderful WV, been to Webster Springs many times, you must have relatives there other wise no reason to go:) Woodchopping championships I think were Memorial weekend. Not many tractors period.. Like someone said, take day trip , leave early about 55 miles to east is Cass Senic Railroad, has old depot, 2 really old Shay steam engines pull you to top of mountain. Beautiful views, last time I went saw 2 F15s fly thru valley below, wow, that is the Bald Knob run, costs about 25$ person, lasts 4 hours or so, also includes admission to logging and RR museum. about 10 miles east of Cass is NRAO Green Bank observatory, has worlds largest steerable dish telescope, over 2 acres of surface, tours are FREE, hth, Mark (live bout 2 hours to south)

I was in Webster Springs a few years ago to visit a (since deceased) friend. That is some wild and beautiful country. I can't imagine it's a good place to find old farm equipment, though. How much farming can you do on the side of a mountain?
