I turned 7 the day before, and remember a little about that day and the following ones.

I remember when the war was over, I was glad because there wouldn't be so much news on the radio...little did I understand, eh?

I was born in the front seat of a Model T Ford, Jan 6, 1944,and obviously don"t remember WWII, but have always been fascinated with it....,especially after finishing paratrooper school in 1965, going to the Special Forces Training Group in Ft. Bragg, NC., getting to Training Group in the wee hours of the morning, walking down the halls, looking at the jumps at St. Mere Iglese, Salerno, D-Day, Market Garden, and others...thinking...what a legacy that we have to live up to! Our predecessors did so much for us.....we need to do the same to honor them. Without them, we would not be here! Or, certainly not speaking English.
