Wheel question

I have an old trailer, that I vultured, off of craig's list, needs a new set of tires, I was figuring maybe of just getting a couple wheels and tires from the junkyard, that way, all I have to do is just swap 'em. Question is, is what car or truck uses a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern? Backspacing seems to be center of the wheel, wheels that are on it, now are 15", with 235 75 15 tires on it.

I have one trailer that has Chev rims on it and the other Ford rims and both are 5 lug. So what I am saying is the only way to be sure you get ones that fit is to take a wheel or hub with you. Company's used a good many types of hubs over the years so you can have 4 trailers from the same company but built different years that use 3 different type/size rims

just about any size/type rim/tires will work as long as the bolt pattern is the same. and fit wheel wells. get the most LT-ply rating for hauling, 8 to 10 ply. make sure of age of tires so they won't blow out under load.

Thanks for the replies, I have a plastic template that I used to measure rims, I do it so often, LOL!
Thought they might be Fords, cause the ones that're on now, are battleship gray. Anyway it's a homemade trailer, with a ford looking front axle, welded straight, a tilt bed low boy.

Take some good measurements on the trailer to match up to. I have an old flatbed trailer that has a 6 bolt wheel pattern and split rims. Not uncommon to find? The problem is that the hub diameter is such that a standard Chevy wheel won't fit because of the center hole being too small. Just another measurement to look out for.

Ford PU wheels have the correct bolt pattern but the pilot hole is too small. Some careful torch work can make them larger. The white sport wheels folks put on their PU usually have larger pilot holes and should fit.

I have a tobacco wagon that I always thought I had six hole chevy wheels. Blew out a tire and went to junk yard and got one. Center hole was too small. Tried an old toyota pick up wheel and it worked great. Might be the same with your's.

Jeep, CJ's, Older Jeep Pickups. My 51 Willys,
pickup has 5 on 5-1/2 as does a 1957 FJ-170,
cab over pickup.

Went down to the junkyard, ford 150, pre '96, or 80's to 90's dodge. Wanted the dodge rims, with tires on em, just couldn't afford them. Got the f-150 rim. Thanks to all who responded.
