OT: No Water!

I'm sitting here in the high school at the moment, with two and a half hours remaining in the school day. They just announced that a construction crew has just cut the water main coming into the school. Thus there is no water to the drinking fountains or restrooms. We have 1750 students, most of whom have weak bladders and dry mouths. The poor little darlings are going to suffer so. It's gonna get real interesting this afternoon. LOL

Close the school until the water problem is fixed. Most kids go to school now for the free meals and play with their chinese electronic junk.
 
They will probably send everyone home early. There's a bunch of health and safety violations that started the instant the water got shut off.

And they've already got an official "day" in anyhow, so no reason not to send the little darlings home.
 
I'd second what Mike said, no water = no school. And if there is a sprinkler system, the fire inspector would make you vacate the building as well.
 
Only the high school was affected. The construction break was adjacent to the cafeteria, so none of the other schools were affected. We wound up walking those who needed to use the restroom to the elementary school next door. Of course, half the kids in school needed to go to the restroom. At 1:05, I had ISS (In School suspension) with eight kids. They hadn't been allowed to go to the restroom since 9:00 AM, so I took them, and surprisingly, I got all them back. I expected some of them to disappear. The plan is to have classes tomorrow, if repairs are completed.
