hello
can somebody give me a estimate or a price range on what a used air slide 5th wheel plate will cost me? i recently got a 1978 Mack RD685 with the mack END675T motor and a 5+4 transmission that i was planning to haul my tractors with. I have a few things that i need to work on before it goes down the road but i was just wanting to know what to expect to pay for a good 5th wheel plate. thanks

that's a $64 dollar question,,,you need to contact a bone yard of semi-tractor,,,or check with some truck dealers where you can p/u one, used cheep....also look on c-list for big truck parts if there is one, if some one knows about a truck site for/with parts, maybe they will post...i like to have this one....

They make many differant 5th wheels. You can choose height; length of slide; cast or pressed steel; and several differant duty or application restriction levels.

Without knowing what 5th wheel and bracket you need I am going to guess and say $200 to $600. This would be for a bottom of the line good used unit.

I just priced a HOLLAND with 36" plate and the 4" rise slide plate. OVER $1900 FOR NEW !!!! I would look at a local truck salvage yard for a complete assembly for about $500. Sometimes you get lucky and some fool spent $5000 on a $500 truck.
