I've ask the question on other forums but, I should of asked here first. Anybody know anything about Kaufman Trailers.

PAT...a more "specific" question would be in order.

I've heard of the brand, but I'm not sure that answers what you are ultimately trying to ask.

Good Luck!!

pat, i've had 2 kaufman trailers and both were very good. the will make them custom for you and don't rip you off. they deliver and are priced fairly. heres a picture of mine with 9700lbs on it. good luck, chuck

We've got a Titan and a Kaufman 20K tandem dual trailers at work. Same length. The Kaufman cost a lot less and was built about an hour away. But it has half the crossmembers in it that the Titan has. We have a seed tender on it, filled it off center one day and it twisted, the corner was just barely off the ground. At least we didn't have the fertilizer tank on the nose.

Thanks for the info. They are the only one that I can find with a steel deck tilt. The one I am looking at has cross members a 16" rather than 24'. You can also get an option with Dexter axles. It also has sealed wiring and lifetime LED lights.

Kaufman is built in Lexington NC. They used to be very poor quality, but I think they have improved. Back when I was hauling auction cars a few years back everyone said don't buy a Kaufman.I repair trailers ,brakes ,lights, etc. and as far as I am concerned the best trailer out there that I have seen is the GATOR, built in Somerset Ky. The Kaufman is cheaper than some of the others, but you get what you pay for.

Look into Sure-Trac trailers, we just down graded size of a dump(14k gvw GN) and flat trailer(20k gvw GN) to two bumper pulls, dump(12k gvw) and flat(14k gvw). I looked at all kinds from Applachian to Mortiz. For my two cents Kuafman are on the top end of cheap trailers.

Welding man,if you check you will find that Gator Made is just another part of the Kaufman family of trailers.People I know that have bought 14K and larger Gator trailers have either got rid of or spent 2-3K trying to make them usable.Go read the customer feed back on the Company.

I am sorry but I have found no info to tie the two companies together and have found no negative feedback on Gatormade either.I would like to see them both if you can direct me to this. This merger has just taken place recently appearently. I have in the past talked to the owners of both companies on the phone and at that time they were independent. I know of at least 5 Gatormade trailers in my area that have had Zero problems.

I have had 2 trailers by Kaufman. I still have the second one. I sold the first one only because I wanted a longer one so I sold the first one for about $500 less than I paid for it but I used it for 4 years. I have had the second one now for 5 years and it is a well built trailer. The only complaint I have had, and this is for both trailers, is the way they attached the decking. The hardware breaks and a board will pop up every now and then. Kind of a pain but it is really not their fault. When I was ready to buy my second trailer, I called them on a Monday and the trailer was ready 11 days later! For the money, I think it is a well built trailer and if I buy again, I will contact Kaufman again. Just my two cents.

We looked into Kauffman trailers a while back and were told they used Dexter axles. When the sales sheet was faxed over it specd Lipert axles. I called around to several local RV sales/Trailer Sales and no one had ever heard of that brand, I cancelled the order. Fast forward six months..........My boss took his family on a vacation that covered 10,000 miles (from Pennsylvania to the Pacific) on his trip his newely purchased camper caught fire. The axle bearings went out and caught the greese on fire and spread. Soooo, they may use different axles from RV to gooseneck, maybe it was a one time thing, but its hard to say. We bought a Delta other than no grease in the jacks gear box we've been pretty happy.

No,I don't have written proof that they are,but the titles(bill of sales)info all did come from the NC location and in talking with the ???owners son who didn't want to talk about it.Look at their web sites almost word for word.Other then the Co.stores, the only dealers selling them are the ones who will sell them a truck load the cheapest.(Gator this week,Ajax next,Acme next and so on.China axles-brakes,loose wiring,Scotch locs, non weather tite connections. Go to tractorbyenet for comments.I don't know how many Co's are under that umbrella but there are 6 or more.

Just goes to show you money talks, the little guy builds a good product and the big corporations know that,They come along and throw a pile of money to the little guy, he sells out and it junk from here one out.Same name but not the same quality. Thanks for the info.

I bought a 9990 lb capacity Sure Trac 16' Implement trailer. A well built trailer in my opinion. I have seen and owned some poor excuses for trailers. Sure Trac is one of the better trailers out there.

I have a GATOR 25 ft. 2 axle dual wheel trailer,it pulls great and have hauled 17,500 payload with no problems.I would buy another GATOR.

I looked at a lot of brands, since I do commercial hauling. You want the best? I will never own anything other than a PJ, hands down. My first was a Load Max, the PJ is twice the trailer. Just MY 2 cents
Here's a Case 400 diesel, a Farmall super H and a Farmall WD-6. This PJ has taken everything I have thrown at it and asked for more.
