Help!!! Transporting Ford 750 backhoe Colorado-California

I bought a 1975 Ford 750 loader and backhoe on ebay. ---I hope I didn't pay too much for it.

I need to ship it from Dillon, CO to Los Angeles.

I'd like to know of a shipping company that can do the job without charging me an arm and leg. The seller can't give me the measurements and I think the transporter will need to have the height, length, width and weight before giving me a quote so if one of you could help me with this it will make my life a lot easier.

Thanks in advance for the input!

Have you posted on the hauling schedule part of
this website yet?

That would be my first attempt a hiring a trucker.

I have been happy with a couple different haulers
I have used. Let me know and I can give you their
contact info.

One of them is from up by Omaha, NE but I think he
does go coast to coast in time is not a major
factor. DOUG

The good news is you bought it in a good area where there is no freight to haul back to LA except yours. And there are quite a few trucks up there that would like to get back to LA. That backhoe is going to take about 30' of deck space with the back hoe spread open to lower it enough to make legal height on a step deck trailer. One thing that would save you some money is knowing if the origin has a way of loading without the trailer having ramps. Also, can you get it off on your end the same way? Or, do you know it needs ramps on both ends? It is easier to find a truck without ramps than one with ramps. I know the average weight on these is about what the specs show on external_link. Ask the seller if he has ever transported it and if he ever weighed it. That will help because weight is important. The height of a step deck is 40" off the ground. Also, is there a time limit on pick up or is the origin okay with keeping it there for a few days to help you get a good rate? All these things affect cost. If you get a quote from anybody, know that price could vary as much as $500 or more from the next guy, so know who you are dealing with. Watch your replies to your question closely in the next two days and I'll see what I have going your way. Maybe I can help.

Well it is the biggest hoe made by Deere at that time. It will weigh around 25,000 is not over 102wide and with the hoe just let down on the deck with it folded up it will be not over 13'6'' will be about 24' long . I hauled one from GA to MI a few years ago and my step deck is 42" high.
