Anyone own an Appalachian trailer?

Been looking to upgrade my trailer, and came across the Appalachian trailer website. Looking for a light deck over. Their prices are cheap.......For a reason? Even made me consider a goose neck??? Any one own one care to comment? Thank you

the old saying, "you get what you pay for" depends on how much steel/iron/aluminum is used for frame/crossbar to hold load, how it's welded, brakes, wheels/tires. how cheap is the wood deck. there is a bunch of prev threads about trailers, pro & cons by every one having a bumper pull to a goose. i have a "may" trailer co. goose [5th wheel set-up] trailer that are built to run over fenders, 102 wide, 24ft 2 ft dove. does everything i need.... good luck deciding

Built just down the road from me and unless they have improved A LOT i would not own one. Even the guy up the hill from where they are built will not sell them.

Ever consider PJ brand? I have 20+5 14,000lb gooseneck, and I use it to the max. with almost all loads, and have never had any trouble with it in the past seven years. I bought it in 2004, and it cost $3900 brand new. I know trailers have gone up in price, but I'd sure check them out.

If your like me, once you pulled a gooseneck you wont go back to a tag. It will never be light in the front end of your truck, unless you mount the hitch behind center of the axle. Sure handles better.

, i had one that was a dump trailer, everything worked well, but it was bouncy and rusted really quick, replaced it with a kaufman trailer,336-790-6800 which they made a special length for me and delivered to my house for a small fee and negotiated the price with me. this is my 2nd kaufman, my brother has one and a friend has one and we all are happy with them. chuck

Pulled one several times. I have a cap on my truck... For, tools, kids, food, etc.... Ever take your tractor to a far away pull and sleep in the back of the truck? can"t do that with a goose-neck.
For the few times a year I take the tractor, the "big rig" isn"t a good fit, for me.

I've got a slide-in camper in my truck, so I know what you mean.

The nice thing about the camper is the DOT leaves me alone, because I'm an RV now not a commercial hauler.

They're good enough for the price. They're light, and they aren't shot blasted before the coat of cheap paint is shot. There are two other manufactures to the north, The owner of Quality trailer being somehow related to the Appalachian guy. I wouldn't buy a hitch ball from the guy up the hill.

770. I have a turn over ball in the bed of the pick up, that I flip over after I unhook and pull ahead. I also have a truck tent I put in the back. Works real good for me.

Anyone own an Appalachian trailer?
