My company safety and risk manager had the attached write up in our company news magazine this quarter. While this is only his interpretation of the CSA rules; help me out and tell me if I am reading this correctly.

If I am in a accident that is NOT my fault in any way such as you rear end me; I get points on my CSA report. If enough of these happen just because I have bad luck by being in the right place at the wrong time I can be fined and/or have my driving privileges suspended.
Now if that is not a crock of ---- nothing is.
I get fined because you can not drive.
I will have to look on the CSA web site and see if I can confirm this info because that is just crazy if it is true.

I don't think this is anything new, there just making it official now. If you have a CDL any wreck is usually your fault. But yes it is truckload of BS. I read a while back they were trying to cut the driving hours from 11 to 8 a day. I haven't heard anything else about this so I guess that never got anywhere?

As a retired truck driver...1.5 million miles...I feel safe in making the following comment (as relates to hours of service "recorded/logged" in the log book)

"In this world, there are THREE kinds of liars...(1) liars, (2) damned liars, and (3) TRUCK DRIVERS!!"

My problem is that the time clock does not lie no matter how hard you try.
Have worked by the hour for over 10 years now.
Heck at my age (kids grown; house paid for) I enjoy log rules. It forces me to slow down and enjoy my time off.

Now when I was young I carried a VERY sharp pencil.

I'm glad I'm back on the farm. I'm too impatient for OTR. I've been farming for 9 months now and can't hardly stand to drive the two hours to Kearney anymore.
