Well after putting in a new relay I thought I had it fixed, Now I burnt up 3 glow plugs. I found glow plugs $10 to $22 each and I dont know witch to get. The $10 ones are Autolite and $13.99 are from NAPA and the $22 are Bosch Supers Glows. The AutoLites are as good or better the the ones from Ford. I have never had to change these before and need advice from you guys that have had to do this and have experance with theses glow plugs. Any help would be great. Bandit

Without knowing more info, I would use the Autolites and change them all as 3 out of 8 sounds like it's time to change them all.

What ford are you trying to glow plug? If it is a 6.9 or early 7.3 na you really should change the glow plug harness to the new style . The old one has spade type ends and the new has the bullet style ends an the glow plug. If this is a new style already I would check the glow plug harness for to much resistance.

Its a 96 F350 and has the new style hookups on it. Had to order the gaskets with the new harness inside figuared I would change the wiring while I had it apart. Still thinking about the Autolite and the Bosch glow plugs they have both in stock. Bandit

Don't use autolite glow plugs. I had a 93 7.3 with a couple burned out glow plugs, which turned out to be Autolites. When I pulled them, the tips were completely gone. Fortunately the pieces went through the engine without any apparent damage, but I've heard stories of people having to pull the heads to retrieve pieces of Autolite glow plugs. I've also seen them swell to the point where they're almost impossible to get out.

For the small difference in price, use Motorcraft/Beru plugs.

I agree with you 100%, Scott! Seems we are playing to an inattentive audience, though!

Thanks for all the good advice guys, After doing some serching I found a Ford dealer selling online that had Motocraft Glow Plugs for $69.99 for a set of 8 and are in the mail to me now. It was a no brainer $9.99 Autolites + taxes = $85.33 or OEM for $69.99 shipped. Looks like the Ford Dealer is a new best friend! Bandit

You'd be surprised at how many times the genuine dealer parts are CHEAPER than aftermarket, ESPECIALLY if you can talk the dealership into a shop discount.
