For those who are inquiring, I am still hangin around. I have been doing the "Dad thing" with my youngest now that several things have started to rest. I will be off work until the 29th and I don't plan on doing much until then. The police car is parked. My youngest decided that he wanted to go fishing so that is exactly what we have been doing. Its peaceful and really does take your mind off the outside world. I really appreciate the support that I have found at YT. Its been a tough week and you guys are right there with me. Lotsa emails, lotsa support. Its nothing shy of impressive. Thank you all.

I'll be back soon.

I was coming home with my "new" 1997 F350 on I-69 as I entered Michigan on the Friday before Memorial Day about 3:00 PM. There were a lot of police cars parked in the median at the state line and I was glad I was driving below the speed limit. I'm still laughing about all the police cars. Keep doing the good Dad thing.

I can't place myself in your shoes, however, I put almost 22 years into U.S.Army. Mostly drill Sgt (7 yr.) rest infantry. Job is important, job feeds family, balance is difficult.

I used 2 things to help balance out...In 100 years who would care? & The grave yard is full of irreplaceable men. In the end those you leave behind are your most important successes.

My best to you & your family. May you find peace.

Go catch some fish.
Some of the best memories of my Dad were from crappie fishing at Grand Lake o' the Cherokee in NE Oklahoma.
