where is serial no. on trailer from Hughes Mfg, Alamo, TN ?

I have my paperwork from buying my 16 ft. Hughes trailer new in 2002. I need to verify that the serial number is on the trailer so police can find it in case of theft. The company has changed hands, the present owners can't tell me where the builders were putting the numbers in 2002. Does anyone have a Hughes trailer built in Alamo, TN? any help would be appreciated!!

Don't know about your particular trailer, but my gooseneck trailer has the serial number written with a wire welder on the inside of one of the beams. I have to get underneath the trailer to see it.

If you have the number, stamp it on the tongue or the front of the frame. Then do the same thing under the trailer. I have been looking for my twenty footer for ten years,I think it is in Springfield IL. Mine was welded on the inside of the frame, but I can t locate the trailer.

I don't know anything about that make, never heard of them. But on the 2 factory made trailers I have hear there was never a serial number stamped anyplace on them. If they ever had any it was just a decal that has weathered away over the years. Newest is a 2014 and decals are about gone, other is about 20 years old and bought new and I don't ever remember it having any decals. I do have the certifick of origon that is issued for Ohio instead of a title. It might be on that. Both of mine are 16'. Friend had both his truck and trailer stollen several years ago, truck recovered 70 mile away, trailer not found. Think it was locals that knew what different people had as the night his truck and trailer was stolen from his yard and trailer was unhooked a neighbor had items stolen out of his barn the was hidden enough that unless you knew the place you did not know the barn was there and they had to know he had what they wanted And that my friend had a trailer that would haul it. I don't think his had anymore than just decals either.

Nearly done, I just need to finish up, as they say!

Since I have the certificate of origin, and a friend loaned me his number/letter stamp set, I think I will ask my insurance man where I should stamp the numbers. I am thinking about putting them in about three places, know only to me and the ins. man.

Thanks for the responses!

Only known to you, really... The insurance man will forget moments after you show him.

But yeah, I was going to recommend three places. Don't tell us or we'll know where to apply the grinder, LOL.
