Hauling utility tractor

I have a small utility tractor (Ford 641) that I need to get hauled from Pennsylvania to north central Montana. I am not sure where to start looking. Any suggestions on reputable trucking companies that do this kind of work would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Not degrading your tractor. Just
making the statement. It will likely
cost more than you have in the
tractor. IF you can find someone that
already has a load running that route
and has room to add your tractor,
may work out. Hiring a company just
to haul your tractor: do not be
surprised at $2.00 or more per mile

Here has been my experience for what it is worth. I had a Gravely Pro 16 (about an 800lb unit shipped from Pennsylvania
to Colorado western slope. I know this is not exactly apples and apples, but: after doing YT search, craigslist pleas,
you name it, after about a year I found a guy from Altoona (you know Pennsylvania) to pick this thing up in Ohio (where
it ended up because the first guy only made it that far) and got it to Grand Junction, CO, about an hour's drive from
where I'm living. He was coming out here hauling a tricked-out jeep on a 24'trailer and had extra room on it. We agreed
on $400. Now this a big garden tractor - but still, just a garden tractor. I think perhaps the volume a machine takes
up on a trailer is equally if not more important than the weight; we're not talking 'dozers here. Anyway, no insurance,
no deposits, didn't know the guy - kind of a gamble - but I got my tractor. I could have NOT gambled and engaged a
commercial common carrier, but I would imagine my bill would be greater than the value of the machine. If you have the
time and your machine is presently in a secure situation, you might just get lucky like I did. Left a Case 480 backhoe
back there: I KNOW that would be prohibitive.

I would agree, much less cost to sell tractor and buy another, a custom load will easily be $4 per loaded mile.

Listed on USHIP.com and see what responses you get to make the haul.
If you decide to go that route, stick with bonded, insured, good rating hauler.

Hotshot load boards might be another avenue to look into.

I suspect it will cost more than your tractors worth. that tractor can be hauled on any car trailer,

As a Partial that would be in the 1.75 to 2.00 per mile for me when I had things going. So now with about 1800 miles that would be in the 3000.00 to 3600.00 range to haul it.
As for UShip Those guys must be something different to keep lowering your own bid to haul something. I looked at it a couple of times and left it alone.

moved a tractor once that I sold I found an old trailer on craiglist for 300.00 dollars did some miner repairs and move it my self at the other end sold it to the guy for 100.00 it was cheap enough I just left it instead of bringing it back home just a thought 🚜

Good luck. I had to move 800 miles from central New York to northern Michigan. I got some very high price quotes to move anything. I DID
get lucky and a trucker from comes here - filled up his 55 foot step-deck trailer with all he could fit. Did the 800 miles for $1500 and that
was a huge bargain.

I assume even a real nice 641 is maybe an $1800 tractor? I have one with a loader. Pretty easy to move with a rental trailer.

Here is the load that cost me $1500 for 800 miles to northern Michigan - all US route. No short-cut through Canada.

Hauling it yourself won't be a cheap alternative. Three thousand mile plus round trip will require 250 plus gallons of fuel (around $650+), meals and lodging for four nights and five days (about $500+), about fifty hours of a driver's time ($750), plus wear and tear on a vehicle and trailer. Can't use a vehicle or trailer with farm license plates. Could you plan some stops along the return route and make a vacation out of the trip?
