Trailer wiring ??

Re wiring the horse trailer and I?m trying to figure out the best way to hook up the clearance lights along the side of the trailer so do I run a separate wire up to each light along the side 4 sepearate wires or can I run one wire and just solder the power wire for the separate lights into the one power wire ?

We always rewired our livestock trailers by running plastic or metal conduit up the front of the trailer then down to the side top marker lights and tail lights. It was much easier to fix if there was ever a problem. We didn't have to crawl under the trailer and clean out any manure that way. Metal conduit lasts longer this way too..

Thanks for the replies guys I?ve got 4 conductor wire ran through where the old wire was through the frame work of the trailer now I?m just trying figure out the best way to feed the marker light circuit I didn?t want to have to splice into the new wire but it looks like I?ll have to to supply power for the marker lights and also to the right side of the trailer stop turn tail circuit

How you connect the wires is not as important as getting them sealed up so they don't corrode. Your best friend will be a can of liquid tape available at auto supply stores. Put that on and you won't have wiring issues.

I love that stuff . Need to get some to finish this project . I have junction box in the front for the pigtail and for the main wiring harness also thinking about putting a junction box at the rear of the trailer so I can run leads out of it for each tail stop turn circuit as well as the marker light circuits then there won?t be any messy splices ?

That will work. I suggest drilling small holes in the bottom and towards the top on the sides for breathers. Most try to seal them tight, thhen they sweat and stay wet inside causing them to rot. Just a couple small vent holes cured that. Or just be a bit sloppy cutting t he holes for the wires.
