how long are your working chains. I use 3/8 by 16' or 20' the most

I have grade 70 3/8" chains in 16FT. and 20FT. and use the 16s for tieing down tractors.I also carry 2 25FT. 5/16"s and several Grade 43 3/8 " 14FT. long.

I have several that are 8-12 ft. Work real well on 4 point tie down on tractors. Don't have a lot of excess to deal with.

I use 3/8" X 8' with a slip hook on one end, grab hook on the other end. One binder on each chain. About 8 of each on my semi-trailer.

Like CCer, I buy 20'chains and cut them in two, add a slip hook with a keeper to that end to go on my trailer "D" rings
