transfer case mounts

I'm putting my old truck together again. It is a1988
f350 7.3 4x4. It has a five speed in it that is pretty
loose, on its second rebuild and very heavily welded.
I have a 2wd zf 6speed out of a 99 f450 PS and a
divorced np205 out of a 75 Ford high boy. I can get
the trans into it fine but wondering if anyone had
advise on either finding or making a mount setup for
the transfer case? Also if anyone was wondering the
transfer has a speedometer drive in it as the
transmission does not.

You have the different clutch disk, different pressure plate, different release lever and different throw-out bearing for the clutch for that 6-Speed? I think the pilot bearing is different too. Your IDI parts will not work. How are you planning on shifting the divorced T-Case? You will have to modify both drive shafts plus create a third one to go from the Trans to t-case. Anyone who ever attempted to replace a ZF 5-speed with the 6-speed has said it was a L-O-T of work.

The NP205 is a great t-case. I had one in my '78 F-150. The deeper reduction in low range of the chain drive t-cases is nice but the strength of a case iron case and cut steel gears and shafts is hard to pass up. That NP-205 and the 3.55 geared 9 Inch rear axle was the only things I never had to work on in that truck.

My best advice for you is that replacing parts with similar parts is easiest, best chance of success.
