I know this question has been asked on this forum recently, but I am looking for feedback specific to my situation. I haul an H with a 16' car
hauler that has a 2' dove tail, with twin axles and electric brakes. I pull the trailer and tractor with a 2015 Silverado Z-71 half ton with 5.3 liter
ecotech engine that has 4W drive and trailoring package. In the past I have had no problem being on the road for shows within 100-150 miles
but am planning on a trip of 900-1,000 miles (from central Kansas to central Ohio & back). My questions what problems can I anticipated.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you have.

If your truck and trailer are properly maintained: have the load properly tied down: equipment looks good: and load is not to heavy for what it's being hauled by : you should be problem free. Things can happen unexpectedly of course but that is a good start.

Check your bearings, brakes, and tires and head out. That trip should be no problem with that setup. You will be crossing state lines so make sure you have good safety chains and break away battery too.

I'd give the trailer bearings a look over. Jack up each side of the trailer and try to wiggle each tire. Shouldn't have any play. Then lubricate. If your trailer has the ez lube system, its best to squeeze grease in there with the tires off the ground so you can spin while pushing it in.

Your primary concern needs to be not the pulling but the stopping. You should be able to find your towing capacity in your owners manual. It should be around 7,000 lbs. which should be adequate if your H is not carrying too much added weight. If it has wheel weights or loaded tires it could be very close. You should get it weighed if you are really concerned. Everyone intends to drive conservatively and carefully when towing but somehow people keep having accidents
