Intercooler on a 1993 Cummins

I am still unable, after 3 weeks of trying, to get cumminsforum to validate the email address I have used for 15 years. I need an air to air intercooler that we can use on our "94 Chevy 3500 with a "93 5.9L Cummins up front. We have an IC out of a "91 Dodge. The problem is that the Chevy radiator is so wide there is no room to pass the IC pipes through the header. The "91 Dodge radiator is short enough but too tall to allow the hood to close. We could lower the radiator support by cutting away a substantial portion of the sheet metal below the radiator but I would really rather not do that. Surely this problem has been overcome by others, considering the number of such conversions that have been done. I would really appreciate it if one of you could pass along some intel that might help.

I'll check it out, but this Cummins motor had a factory intercooler to begin with. The problem is that the chevy radiator is too wide to allow room for the intercooler pipes on either side, and the Dodge radiator is too tall. What year model Ford truck intercooler are you referring to? If it mounts behind the bumper, how does enough air get to it to do any good?

I don't know. I'm not really worried about it, as I have an automatic, so I can't really load the motor enough to need it.

Cumminsforum.com is owned by verticalscope.com, they had a security breach, they are replacing all passwords and passwords expire after so long, so that you have to change it now and then.

You can also try diesel truck resource forums. That's where I get my info.

Took me about a week to figure out how to get back on CF and I'm have a paid membership.

Power Stroke intercoolers from 99 up till around 07 or 08 are the most popular, but I think they might be to tall for a Chevy.
I have a 04 F-450 with a 5.9 12v using a 99 7.3 all aluminum intercooler, my nephew has a 83 C-30 with a 5.9. He installed a narrower radiator and got a custom intercooler that fit in the room he had to work with. He found a company on ebay that sold intercoolers with a listed phone number and called them to get what he needed.
