Hello I have a 1999 Dodge 3500 and the park brake stopped working Saturday. The petal only clicks once as it is pushed to the floor. The cable that comes through the fire wall is not moving at all. I know that that the rear service brakes are working. Drum brakes on the rear by the way. I think that some of the mechanism is probably broken at the petal itself. The park brake worked fine Satuday morning but they gave up Saturday afternoon. By that time I had quit for the day myself it was 92* with extremely high hudimity LOL. I figured I would remove the petal assembly and start there. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

I think that it would be easier to start at the back checking for movement. Also, you will be working in the shade. Check the pedal after you determine that the rest is free.
