Hauling a ford 600

I'm looking to buy a tractor in the next couple months, and I've pretty well settled on a ford 600, and a 5 ft rotary cutter. My question is how long of a trailer would I need to haul this set up?

Some depends on what you plan to pull it with, also. Trailer will need to be long enough and axles placed so as to be able to get some weight on truck. To much weight to far back on trailer and it will not handle well. Too much weight to far forward on a light truck and handling will also be a problem.

I haul a 641 with a 6 foot cutter on a 16 foot dual axle trailer with a 1500 Silverado. Cutter hangs over the back a couple of feet with the tractor's rear tires between the axles. If I pull all the way forward it puts to much weight on the truck. Farther back and not enough weight on the tongue plus cutter would be way over.

yup, 16' works, 18 bett if 16, and a half ton truck or 'light 3/4 ton' hang the tail wheel over and glag to get weight over the axles.

If you have a beefy suspension 3/4 ( long bed, etc ) or a 1 ton, you can likely pull the tracgtor up to get no overhang on a 16'er and still pull just fine.

Swapdonkey if your trailer is like mine and not a dove tail be careful pulling up on it with a heavy load on the rear. I have found my tractor works best around 900 rpm and in first gear. You want to just make it up onto the trailer without stalling. Start a few feet from trailer and let it crawl up the ramps. Don't try to feather the clutch or stop and start, just let it go. Higher rpms on the engine and my front wheels really get some air as the governor responds. They will come up at little at the lower rpm setting, but only a little. A six foot bush hog makes my front fairly light.
