Would like to get a cast iron tractor grille transported from Goodhue Minnesota to somewhere within 50 miles of Hagerstown Maryland. No hurry, could even be in the spring. Grille weighs approx. 250lbs, dimensions are 22" x 31" x 6". Thanks.

Brent, I have heard on here that if it is on a pallet Fastenal will ship it. I never tried it so maybe someone else can comment. I bought some parts for my 77 from Justin and are friends on Facebook. We both have White Americans and he just bought a real nice one.Greg

Fastenal will ship it. You have to take to your local Fastenal outlet and they will ship it to the closest store near where its going.

Thanks guys for the tip on Fastenal. I'll see what they offer. I wanted to find some shipping alternatives rather than posting to Hauling Schedule. Yeah greg, Justin has some good used Oliver stuff.

I'd just ship it LTL. A shipment like that would qualify for a low class code and shouldn't be that expensive to ship. I ship items like this all the time it's not that pricey if you've got access to a good freight broker.

If your going this route, Make sure the broker isn't listed on the bad list. There are a bunch of them out there.

Fastenal came back with a $150 estimate which I thought was a bit high. ABF Freight shipped a 1100lb finish mower 600 miles last summer for about $300. I'll see what they say.

Check out the track record on claims of the company that you do pick. Things do happen from time to time and damages do happen. Some companies are very very slow in paying claims and try to get out of paying claims all together.
