Gooseneck trailer

Looking to buy a tandem gooseneck--probably Big Tx--trying to decide between 20'+5' and 22'+ 5'. Any comments on lenght and Big Tex trailers welcome.

Big tex are excellent trailers, but a bit heavier than most. If you use a trailer hard they are an excellent choice.

Twenty foot would be plenty of trailer for a 56 Ford but 22 would be better if you planned on getting another.

22' isn't much longer than 20' but that length could make a difference sometimes. I would recommend you consider trailer unloaded weight. I went with Appalachian trailers as they are pretty lite unloaded but aren't for everyone. They aren't built as strong as a PJ but I've yet to see one break. And I've had mine WAY overloaded.

Big Tex is a very nice trailer. As far as length, I'd say it would depend on what you want to do with it. I own a Kaufman 25+5 tandem dual trailer and I am often glad I have the extra deck space! Other times while in tight areas, in can be a pain to maneuver. The extra deck space can help position some of the loads to take pin weight off the truck(or add it). A lot of variables either way, but I would rather have a trailer that's too long than too short IMO.
