Aluminium trailers

Are aluminum trailers alot lighter than
steel? What would be the difference weight
wise from a duel wheeled steel verses a
duel wheel 25 ft aluminum trailer?

The aluminum trailer will be lighter. It will not rust but the aluminum will fatigue crack worse. So it all is what type of trailer your looking at.

In livestock trailers I would not even think about a steel trailer. In car trailers it is a toss up. On gooseneck heavy trailers go with steel as the aluminum ones cost twice as much.

Aluminum trailers will crack, how much and how often depends on the trailer and it's use. You will have to weigh that against no rust, no paint problems, always looks good, and higher resale value. To be honest, if the aluminum trailer is well made there will be little cracking, and only after years of service.

I have a small Aluma brand aluminum trailer that I haul a golf cart and a ATV on it works great, no cracks and super light. If I were going to haul a tractor I would most definitely get a steel trailer.....
