Definitely is a neat rig, but if you ever get a chance to drive one of those medium duty cab-overs, you might get a different opinion. The drivers seat is actually ahead of the front axle, so unless the road is extremely smooth, the driver will spend very little time actually in the seat. Most of his time will be spent somewhere between hitting his head on the roof and bottoming out on the seat.

Can't say about the Chevy, never drove one, but I drove Ford & IH mid range cab overs, with 16' & 22' freight boxes. Never could complain about the ride, whether loaded or empty.

I rode shotgun thousands and thousands of miles in CO-190 IH's, and a couple GMC tiltcabs just like that one, all single axle tractors pulling 36 to 42 ft livestock trailers. Glad most of those little tilt cabs have been run through automobile shredders and been recycled into office supplies. The whole idea behind them was to be easier to maneuver around town pulling 30-40 foot trailers. Now days tandem axle conventional tractors are getting in & out of those same places with 53 ft trailers!

The Emeryville's weren't as short coupled, but the extra height got old in a hurry climbing in&out. A nice little short nose conventional was easier to get in&out and just as easy to maneuver. One of my last driving jobs I had I ran local delivery with an early 1980's F-700 Ford with GM 8.2L Fuel Pincher & 5+2 pulling a 45 foot dry box. Tractor had power steering, was just like driving my '78 F-150 except it had air brakes! I did over 1000 miles in that truck one day and never got out of the state of Iowa. Days like that a bigger fuel tank would have been nice, it only had one 40 gallon tank, but got 7+ mpg so could run 250+ miles between fuel stops.
