my 99 f350 cab chassis has the 4r100 in it yesterday it started making a loud noise when in park or neutral.. when putting it in gear from park to reverse it sounds like the gears are grinding then it get quit. tell you go to neutral that when it get real loud and idea. what came lose. it pulls good and is quit going down the road

If it's a 4x4, check the transfer case.

what it end up being was the flex plate was cracked at fly wheel if i drove it a few more mile it broke completely and i know what was the problem
