John Deere 40 T

Looking to transport a John Deere 40 T. The tractor is out of state and not able to get a good answer on how wide the tractor is. I know there is adjustment in the width of the rear wheels, but the question is will this tractor fit on a 6 ft wide trailer? I would appreciate any tips on trailering and tying down. Thank you

If you slide the wheels in as far as possible on the axle, then the 48in. tread range will fit on a 72in. trailer.

Take a look at the photo below of "BW" our 1954 Model 40T.

This shows the hub normal - wheel inward tread setting.

You might consider tying down the rear of the tractor either through the lift link arms or drawbar assembly.

You might consider tying down the front of the tractor over the front tires.

Hope this helps.

Thanks James, your information helps a lot! I really appreciate your response

when i take my j-d b, to shows, i also run a strap across the top of the rear tires and strap down to trailer, since tires are taller than seat, keeps wheels from bouncing when hitting bumps in the road....

The tractor could fit . I have one tires in and one tires
out and dished out it will straddle a seven foot trailer.
