Hauling tractor in AL.

Thinking on buying a tractor in Alabama, any problems in that state? F250 with 16 ft trailer, 5000lb tractor. Have hauled tractor pass scale in Knoxville before, you guys pass that scale?

Passed the Tenn scales on I-65 many times. Dodge 3500 , 25' Gooseneck with tractors and my dozer. Did get chased down one time at night because they could not tell what I was. Explained not for hire, my stuff only. He sent me on my way. No problems in MI, OH, Ky and AL.

Al. has very few weigh stations. Do use roaming enforcement officers. Not likely to have problems if all looks good.

Shouldn't get any attention with your setup unless your doing something completely unsafe. Have a good trip..

vapet I would make sure that I had a bill of sale for the tractor and I had it chained down on all four corners with a binder on each chain. Also make sure you are carrying your proof of insurance and you should be good to go. A DOT cop told me one time that he didn't care how I tied a tractor on the trailer just as long as it was still tied on if I ever tipped the trailer over.
