I have noticed that every time I install a new
serpentine belt on my 5.9 Cummins motor, it
rubs against the underside of the tensioner
pulley and eventually frays on the outside edge
resulting in the belt eventually being narrower
than it was when new. My friends "91 5.9 does
the same thing. If you look at the water pump
pulley, you can see that the belt passes over
it at a definite angle toward the motor as a
result of the underside of the tensioner pulley
pulling it that way. Do any of you know how I
could correct this? Thanks.
