I am considering updating my tractor hauler and would like feedback from 6.7 owners on the following: How does it pull; compared to what; what load are you pulling and which gear ratio?? What kind of fuel mileage loaded / empty?? Having any negative issues??? PLEASE; OWNERS OR FORMER OWNERS ONLY!! I want facts based on experience; not fiction based on propaganda. THANKS

IF you are a AUTO.trans fan,it is the best thing since sliced bread.3:73 axle,15 to 22MPG putzing around,9 to 14 MPG loaded, gets better milage out of cruse loaded except with 5th wheel camper(38 ft.)which doesn't seem to matter. Will run any speed you want to run easily.I'am NOT a AUTO fan,but could make just as good a time with any of my 7.3s or 6.0s 6 speeds on the tractor pulling circuit running long trips.Yes I would buy another one easily, but would like to go back to manual if they ever came back out.

We have 2 of them, one 2011 with 70K and a 2012 with 75K, no issues with either one. I love the power and the economy.

We have 2 of them on the farm and HOLY S!@T do they run. I have a 7.3 with a chip and they run right by me stock. Can't tell for economy as they have lifts and huge tires but pretty respectable for what they are.

I love my 6.7 Ford. I have been driving it for 3 years. My only complaint is they are hard on tires due to the power.

Ours likes fuel. power OK but 6 pulling an empty trailer and 9.5 by itself. This could be due to the 3.31 rear gearing though.

We have 4 of them at work. F 550 4x4 set ups with service bodies and cranes. I get around 10 mpg with mine, weighing 20,000 all the time. Good power and start great in the cold.

I really like mine. 2011 F450 4x4 ex cab, steel dump body, 4.30, 11,400 empty. The highest mpg I've seen is 13, lowest 7 plowing snow or hauling heavy in the hills. If it weren't for the price I'd sell off my old 7.3 and buy another one for personal use

I have the 3.31 gears, runs 16 around town, 18-19 on highway, sounds like you have an issue to get looked at.

I had a new 2011 reg cab it only had a 21 gallon tank and 10/12 MPG was tops.It pulled well but had electronic issues [check engine light would come on and it would depower]after numerous dealership visits I traded it and two others for new Dodges which I had never owned before and the mileage isn't much difference but am much happier with ride fuel tank capacity and trucks in general. The Cuummings is a proven engine but were better before all the pollution devices.

(quoted from post at 18:35:11 05/18/14) I have the 3.31 gears, runs 16 around town, 18-19 on highway, sounds like you have an issue to get looked at.

Only problem is if it's not throwing codes, there's nothing wrong so the mechanic won't look at it.

I bought my F250 Super Duty 4 Door in September 2011 and have a little over 53,000 miles on it now. I just replaced the factory tires on it this past week. I think the ride is as good as any truck I've ever owned and the power is awsume. I can hook onto my gooseneck with J.D. 350 dozer on it and have no problem with power and I live in hilly country. Without being hooked to a load, I get roughly 18 mpg, with it under a load I usually get in the neighborhood of 12 to 14 depending on if I keep it under 65. I have had 0 mechanical issues with it and I don't know for sure what rear end it has under it. I'd buy another one in a heart beat. Keith

I got an early 2011 that has a 20% program, no particlate filter, no cattlicatic converter, no DEF but still hav erg. That picked up about .5 mpg. Pulling GN, around 9. Farm work, bumper trailer, etc, around 13. No load on highway, 15 and 15+ with tailwind, down hill. Doors raddle, wind noise, SMALL fuel tank, 20" tires, needed air bags, and other things. The thing that POs me is when you stop, get out of drivers door and want to get in the back or passenger door, the damned door is LOCKED!

It is pretty when you can keep it clean. Red King Ranch crew SWD. I like Cummins but not Dodge trucks and definately no GM products. That is why I drive my 2010 Sienna van most of the time.

Have a 2012 F350 with a 6.7 and absolutely love it. Only 20,000 miles on it so far, but if it continues to run as it has so far, it is a winner. Put 8,0000 miles on it in Alaska and the Yukon this past summer pulling a 35 foot fifth wheel and it would pass everything on the road. Got 14 mpg in Alaska, but the roads are poor and I usually drove about 45 mph. At 70-75 mph it gets about 12 mpg and it is averaging about 15.5 mph empty but I do push it a bit. Pulls my goose neck with two tractors with no problem. So far no problems.

I have a 2014 reg. Cab. I'm a roofing contractor and always have a dump trailer hooked up, along with 1000lbs of ladder rack and tools. I get 13.5 -14 mpg all the time. If I unhook the trailer it levels out at 15.7. Have 5000 miles on it so far. I like the transmission and have gotten used to adding urea. I'm hoping the electronics hold up, but everything had electronics now. Only thing I don't like is the 25gallon fuel tank. But if you get extended cab or 4 door and a long bed you get a bigger tank. Guess there's not enough room in the shorter wheelbase trucks. I can have 8000lbs of shingles in the trailer and easily go 75mph up our mountains. 100000mile powertrain warranty.

You asked for what rear too- I believe mine is 3.55. I know it's not 3.73 like my last truck, and there was a higher ratio than mine, 3.30ish. Last truck had 5.4 gas. My brother has a 2000 f250 with a chipped 7.3, and the 6.7 has more all around guts than his truck. A diesel shop nearby has a 6.7 they claim to be over 700 hp and are just now starting to beef things up internally.

From the dealership tech"s point of view, they"re a whole bunch more reliable than the 6.0/6.4. When they do have problems it seems mostly exhaust temp sensors, NOX sensor, and urea pumps.
