Heading for PA soon, looking at crossing Ohio on either 224 or 30. Not in a big hurry, so want to stay away from toll roads. Which would be better of the two? Thanks for all input.

Either one is pretty much smooth sailing other than being pretty busy in the Akron Canton areas where they both are run together with interstate highways. Rt 224 runs with 76 and 77 while Rt 30 runs on 77 for a ways also. Rt 30 is 4 lane all the way and probably quicker going all the way across. 224 is both 2 and 4 lane but usually moves right along. It's a toss up really.

Depends where your going ?? 224 is a sightseeing ride thru small towns and some four lane . and the huge hang up is from Canfield to Poland , both of which are speed traps . Heavy stop and go traffic from the east side of Canfield to the east side of Poland. Route 30 is mostly four lane from the In. state line to East Canton then your down to two lane . From Minerva to Lisbon it starts to get curvy and from Kinsinton to Lisbon ya start into some light hills and a couple bad curves . Hanoverton is a Speed trap along with Dalton east of Wooster I live between Us 30 and 224 . IF ya take Rt. 45 south of 224 it brings ya into my home town . If ya take Rt. 9 north off U S 30 it will take ya past the farm and wright to my house. So if ya want to have a cup of coffee on the way thru let me know I'll meet ya .

In Pa 30 will take into metro Pittsburgh area; wouldn't go there unless it is your destination.
224 dumps you into the center of the state, more rural. I live between the two areas and travel these areas all the time. Good luck.
