from Brush Creek, TN to Asheville, OH

the 420C was a PAIN, one of the tracks was locked up, and winch didn't have enough to move it, had to go to the Egyptian method and roll it on logs.... then figure out a way to get it off of them all while getting it placed where It would ride safest.

This was a while back from Northern KY cinci area to Chattanooga, TN rear wheels would not adjust, and couldn't get weight forward enough with tractor behind fenders, owner asked if he could load it on wood blocks.... didn't like it but took it easy and went smooth.

Good lookin' outfit you got there. The crawler looks like it may have been just about a load for both truck and trailer.

Yessir, it was listed at 5500lb which I wasn't too sure about, once it was on the trailer I will admit I wasn't real comfortable with it, and will bet money it was well over 5500 (I hate to admit what I think it really weighed) but the roads were smooth and I made frequent stops to check it out. I am going to upgrade trailers very soon. This one has done great but I am finding myself hauling on the heavier side more often. As for the truck, it was a nice little load. It does really well, don't think I ever had to come out of 6th and maintained 65 and 14mpg the full trip. Once I was in ohio I jumped to around 15mpg

looks like you hauled a few goodies,,, my question/suggestion, have you thought about adding/getting a trailer equlizer hitch, like on r-v trailers to even out your heavy loads, so your truck rides even?

Just kinda wondering, how to go about getting into doing some hauling. I have a 25'deck over goose neck and 2011 F250 Super Duty. I think I will be retireing again this summer & it might be a way to help out the finances a little. email's open. Keith

Getting into hauling is no problem, getting into it legally is another matter. For hire trucking at any level is regulated by someone. If you haul for hire across state lines you must have an ICC authority or lease to someone that has.You must have a DOT number and 1 million dollars of liability insurance. If you don't have cargo insurance, one mishap can wipe you out. More to trucking that just hook and go,now days. BTDT wouldn't do it again.I ran a Hot Shop rig for 2 years and it darn near broke me. Too much red tape and expense for the amount of money to be made.

I have thought about it but the truck rides pretty good as is, and I have air suspension in the rear to level things out. the IH was a little forward but thats because I wend down the street and added another piece on the rear. It is very expensive to get the blessing to haul some items, especially cars, But all the cars I have hauled were for good friends so technically it wasn't a "for profit" deal. For the equipment I have a rider on my personal insurance for unowned cargo up to $10,000 or something like that, I would have to look for the exacts.

I don't see any numbers or icc authority on the truck. So I would not be posting pictures of things. Nor would I admit to hauling for hire.
