I have had a new Ford and have a new Dodge and they both get about 8/10 pulling a 32ft gooseneck with one tractor with cab.Without trailer driving normal 15MPG is tops. Many people claim more but that's what I get. They both have plenty of power just too many pollution devices to steal mileage.I have had older Powerstroke and Cummins that got about 25% better mileage but not as much power. We don't chip or change them as it is costly and can void warranty.

The only way you might get a dealer to install a delete is if there were no plates on the truck and you sign a statement that you"d never operate it on the highway again. If the EPA were to get wind of any shop removing or otherwise rendering any emissions controls inoperative, might as well hand them the keys to the place. Either way, removing the emissions controls VOIDS the engine warranty and has never been any sort of factory or dealer option.

That's pretty easy to do with the P-pump. With the VE's you can bump timing, or there's a spacer for under the KSB now to give more dynamic timing, with those, a 366 (3200 RPM) governor spring, and a good torque converter (Goerend or Suncoast) you actually get better fuel mileage with the extra power.
Well, you do IF you continue to keep your foot out of it.

Really no difference also had a DuraMax which I also liked and it got 8/10MPG.One thing about the Dodge is there is more room under the hood and the ride is excellent. All diesel trucks had poor automatics but that has been changed and they all work as good as the Allison.I had to buy manual trans until they fiqured it out but they did.

Has nothing to do with this post. Was getting my Expedition four wheel drive fixed, had to put in a used transfer case. Ran it in Auto mode in the ice and it kicking in and out wore the synchronizers out, I guess. There was a guy there who escorted wind generator blades. He had a 02 Ford 5.4 4X4 with get this 680000 same motor and trans, but had changed the seat a time or two.
