Bent spindles?

I have bent spindles on my stock trailer. They are
the type of spindles that angle upward from the axle
for a low ground clearance type trailer. Am I able
to heat and bend those spindles or do I need to buy
a new axle. Thanks for the help.

I doubt the spindles are bent,it's the axle. The axles are bent upward in the center from the factory. Cattle trailer manufacturers put 2-3500# axles under a trailer making it a 7000# GVW trailer. If you load 10,000# of steers in the trailer and cross a ditch putting all the weight one one axle, somethings going to bend, the axle. I have seen this dozens and dozens of times. They can be straightened, but they will bend again as long as you overload them. I chain them down and bend them with a jack,no heat required.

It won't stay if you try to straighten it. A new axle beam won't cost too much. You can switch your hubs and brakes to a new beam. One bit of advice, get a u-bolt kit when you get the axle, it's rare to get the u-bolts off and even more rare that they will hold after. While you are doing that I also suggest all new bolts, bushings and straps in the suspension.

I was going to say to take it to a good alignment shop (one who is capable of straightening frames) They will just bend the axle up in the middle. Also try not to make square turns overloaded! Vic
