Hi Thanks for the reply. Im not planning every oil change, This truck was 1 careful lady owner and 99 idiots . The last one had never changed the oil only topped up when low buy the looks of it!. They took it to 525,000 kms! from 140,000 when they got it. I figured it needed injectors and maybe starter, due to way over the poor mark starting, even on hot days, But found what guys said about this oil and the flush on you tube. Just outta interest i tried it. Guess c@#p in the oil was my problem. This truck will now be getting regular service when due. It also now starts and runs like a fine Swiss watch. So hopefully problem over for the next 300,000 kms!. oil and filter is way cheaper and quicker than injectors and starter change. Regards Robert
Re: 7.3 high pressure oil pump maintenance in reply to T in NE, 09-03-2013 21:55:04
Hi Yeah it was not good bought the truck cheap knowing i Was gonna spend on it. well Truth is it ended up costing twice plus, what I thought. This guy was an animal with maintenance. everything I looked at was worn out or damaged. Couldn"t even change the fuel filter without finding messed up parts!. it runs so good and has good oil pressure I"m kinda reluctant to pull the motor out and drop the pan, with what else I found, I might not like it. I will cross the motor bridge if it quits, or just junk the truck and find an 03 7.3 to replace it. The way this thing was abused it is sure a good advert for A 99 ford F250 super duty. Don"t see the 6.0 lasting this treatment. Regards Robert
