Offset hitch

I have read about guys making an offset hitch to tow an All-crop combine more centered on a pickup. Without this I looks like the all-crop would stick out the drivers side by more than 7 feet. Does anyone have a picture that shows the detail off the offset hitch they made? I have an 06 dodge 2500.

Back when we had to make our pickup bumper, dad always made 3 places to pull from. But know with everybody pulling from a 2 inch receiver, couldn't you just make a great big offset hitch from 2 inch square 1/4 inch wall tube. I think it would be strong enough to pull a All Crop. I would push it over 5 ft. You could run a ratchet strap back to the frame to take the wiggle out. A friend of mine welded two more receivers on the ends of his heavy cross box beam. Just a thought Vic

We just had a plate bolted to the top of the step bumper on the extreme right side. But back then the step bumpers were a little stronger. I like the idea of welding another tube on the right side of the receiver hitch.

dont know how into fab work you want to get but you could take some heavy wall2 inch square tube, come out of the reciever on the truck then go at a 90* right angle along the outside of the bumper, then drop a bracket down from the right frame rail and out to the tubing and using a piece of heavy wall c channell make it so it pins to the 2 inch tubing that would take the stress off the angle at the trucks reciever, and let you pull as far to the right as praticle, the whole thing would pin on with 2 hitch pins one at the reciever tube the other at the c channell , just a idea

I"d just make a 90 degree 2" heavy wall square tubing adaptor to go in your reciever and weld some gussets top & bottom where the two pieces join. I"d then weld a 2" reciever box out on the end for a hitch. Kip

If I were to come out of my receiver I would want about two foot gusset there. I would come off the right frame rail, then back, and then to the right. There would be a lot less torque on it.
