Got a 5500 cummins and has no production changes.First problem is it is now overheating if you are pulling a load in the mtns.I have changed the thermostat and have just gotten a new clutch for the fan from. You can unhook the trailer and run like the wind in any situation and no problem.I never do hear the fan come on like I did with my Ford but may not in a Dodge.I also had another issue coming back loaded the other day.An alarm or message came on and said the truck would after 200m mi. fail to crank. Not knowing i dropped the trailer at a friends house,as I was not wanting it to stop as we went over the Mtns. coming home and will leave it till problems is resolved.I dropped the trailer and came home running just truck and returned home.I havent seen the message again and it didnt shut off and no overheating. Will change the fan-cutch before returning for the trailer along with hopefully finding something out about the alarm.I am not sure on either of these issues as I look at formus and it still leaves the questioned unanswered

Daily traffic at DTRF is a small fraction of what it used to be. The founder sold the site to an internet company and they haven't upgraded the servers. There's days a lot of people have to refresh the page several times just get it brought up, let alone post anything. There was a time there that within a couple hours you would have answers to your questions.

TinNE, Thanks for info. When I looked at site again saw it was much different than previous, way too many ads. You"re right, it almost looked deserted.
Larry, reread your post, did not realize last sentence referenced that site. Sorry for replowing old ground. Unfortunately don"t have much else to offer. Good luck!

Did you try getting the codes to come up. Not sure if they also do it on the 5500's but on the 2500 you toggle the switch 3 times and leave it on till it flashes the code numbers in the miles box on the dash. You have to turn the switch to on but not to the start position to get them to show the codes. It will run from 2 different spots so one might say done with no codes before the other starts running.

I had some overheating issues with my gas Ford. Just pulling my trailer loaded. Did all the normal things washed the radiator out. fan clutch, thermostat. Finally took it to my friendly Ford dealer. They couldn't get it hot. Finally he took all the various things apart in front of the radiator. It was filled with fescue seed!

Well got it back together today with new clutch and everything is fine as before but trouble came when I pulled a load so that will be sometime this week and I will go get my trailer
