How not to haul your tractor to town.

My BIL finish mower gear box started to leak. It
is a Land Pride 6ft 3 pt. on a little Kubota. Well
last night he loaded it on his car hauler trailer
and straped it down with a couple of ratchet
straps.(cheap small ones) Well it rained last
night. This morning he left to take it to the
dealer to get repaired. When he pulled out onto
the highway,(you can't see very good, need to
hurry) he got on his big old Dodge hemi. Said he
felt a slight bump and when he looked he didn't
have any tractor and mower. Didn't seem to hurt it
any. The brakes were set, so it didn't roll off.
But was pretty tense for a while because it was
setting in the middle of a blind hill. I think he
will use multiple chains from now on. :) Vic

Yeah I know what your talking about, those hemis have tons of power, and are snappy, when you get on them they will throw you back in your seat. At least nothing broke.

Had that happen with an atv many years ago. Used 2 small straps, one front and back. When I pulled out on the road it snapped the front strap and landed in the road. Always used 4, or 2 large ones after that. lol

Young cowboy pulled in here a couple of days ago with a pretty new Dodge dually with a PJ gooseneck trailer loaded with a 4x4 hay bale and a fifty thousand dollar skidsteer. Wanted two 3x3 bales loaded on the front of the trailer next to the other bale. Got him loaded and asked him if he was going to strap them down. Said, No, they would ride. I crawled up on the trailer to look at the skidsteer. Got back off and watched him leave. Happened to notice as he pulled the hill out of the stack yard that the skidsteer was bouncing around. Not a chain or strap one on it.

and that is the reason the DOT is all over anyone with a truck & trailer and all the regs that they have come up with just because of a few stupid ones. sorry for the rant but stupid sh-t like that just makes me mad
