Do you block them out?

Or let them in front of you when they signal a lane change? I have to drive in Mass. fairly frequently. The drivers there, as well as the tens of thousands who moved up here to NH from there, tend to be very aggressive. I make it a point when someone is signalling to change lanes in front of me to let them go because I know that I wish to change lanes sometimes. Most drivers, probably 85%, will try to block you out by speeding up. Then when you do make the change they will keep the pedal down and run right up on your tail. I suppose they do it to try to make it look like you cut it close.

If your going to drive in the NE you have to start
your lane changes before you put on your signal, or
do it simultaneously. Anything starting in NYC and
going north and east is the worst for that in the
nation. There are a few other pocketts of it too
like chicago and atlanta, and california.

I drove the east coast several times back in the mid 80s. Yes, you must start your lane change BEFORE you turn on the turn signal, or those idiot drivers will never get out of your way.

Two cars racing to get the same spot in a given lane?? Not a good plan sez this DE instructor. Best to signal, and find someone willing to let you in. Really helps if you're going same speed as traffic you're entering. And yes, there are a lot of jerks out there that want to contest you for a spot on the pavement. The guy who gets home at night without any dents is the nner!

Might work if you are driving a car. If you are driving an 18 wheeler though, the rules change, because if you DON'T make that lane change in preperation for the upcoming exit, you will miss that exit, and more likely than not, you WILL end up in a tight spot where an 18 wheeler is NOT supposed to be, and there will be absolutely NO opportunity to turn around.

When I drive in the city, after about 20 minutes, I make the taxi drivers look nice. If you want to be an a$$, I'll be twice as big an a$$ back. I'm normally fairly easy going around home, but those city drivers just get me pizzed.

I hate the east coast.
That's why dash cams are so prevalent in Russia. Too many people pull stupid stuff like that. There is a bus driver who just rams them when he gets cut off. That one car, must have been hit 4 or 5 times before he slowed the bus down. Makes sure they miss their turn before stopping.

theleft coast and east coastcities are full of selfish ,self centered,Li BER Al. sheeple who will blame their own parents for ,spending their inheritance, andcreating all of their own shortfalls,, and take no responsibilityfor their own choices

That works in most of the country. You've never been to CT have you? Land of the homeless, they have nowhere else to be from 7AM to 7PM other than go clog up the highways.

Speaking as a frequent motorcycle rider I would much prefer a drunk, idiot or worse to be ahead of me so I can see what they are doing.

Just my 2 cents.

No
But Houston is the same. Seeing a turn single come on
means, speed up and fill the space, to most folks it seems.

In my 18 wheeler I have to get in the correct lane miles before
the exit. If I don't I have to play chicken or miss the exit.
