MAP21 which congress approved this past summer states farmers or farmhands crossing state lines will not need CDL,medcard, drugtesting, medical certificates, log books ,or vehicle inspections and trucks over 26,000#s are exempt within 150 miles of home. These vehicles must be equipped with special license plate.I checked at our local courthouse and they dont have a clue about any special plate. Most DOT officers are not up on this.I personally would feel better if I knew the people I meet on the road at least know how to drive a big rig .Thats one of the reasons automatic transmissions have became so popular as they dont know how to shift.I like being exempt but safety should also be thought about and trucks that are not safe and drivers that cant drive look like an accident ready to happen.
