because of the bearing clearences on todays engines, stay with the oem specs, unless it has over 150-200k and starting to sound a little noisey,, then 'maybe' step up to a 5w-40 or a 10w-40...can also check on the FTE.COM site for fords, and see what others owners have posted and said.
 
Agreed with what Bob said. Actually 5w20 is the lastest spec but I would stick with the 5w30. Anything heavier won't flow enough through the tight tolerances.
