I am going to replace the complete backing plates on my trailer. Has anyone tried the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes? Do they work? How many years have you had them? I live in the snow belt, any issues with rust?
Thanks
Rich

the old style brake on my 95 model trailer you had to backup using brakes controller to make the self adjust work. i replaced them about 2004 haven't had any problem scene with the front adjust as they adjust each time you apply your trailer brakes as far as rust i live in west ky 52plus inches of rain well except this year no problems though i haven't pulled it on snow or ice just not going to happen here .

I took the trailer to Akron (200 mi round trip) last weekend with two tractors on it and the brakes worked very well. I had to turn the controller down to 5 to keep from over braking. I put the 7000# backing plates on all 4 wheels, and rewired the trailer including lights. The rebuild cost about $500, including LED lights, new e-brake control and pigtail.

Thanks for the advice.
