PJ deckover bumper pull

Thinking of buying a new trailer. Looking for wider and longer than my 22 foot 83"wide 12k bumper pull. Have my eyes on pj deck over 14k bumper pull. they are up to 26 foot long. what should I look for in a trailer. and options to look for.

Just my 2 cents worth, if you are gonna go for a 14k, you should get a gooseneck and put the hitch in your truck...no matter what, make sure you have enough truck as well... Bobinva

I have a PJ deckover gooseneck. Bought it new and have been using it for 5 years now. It has been a good trailer.

Without knowing what you are going to use yours for can't really tell you what options to look for. On mine I got the locking toolbox (think that is std now) 3 flip up ramps and a 5' tail. No regrets here.

I got a new PJ trailer the first of august. I bought a 24 foot Model F-8 bumper pull 14,000lb. low profile, 102 wide, 21ft. flat deck with a 3 ft. beaver, 3 stand up ramps with spring assit, spare tire with mount, and a 12,000lb. jack stand. Its an easy trailer to pull and tracks great.

Get one that is painted instead of powder coated. Rust travels under powder coat faster than you can run.

My dad has a deckover 20' PJ 14K bumper pull, I believe what they call the 8" beam deckover. It's a really nice trailer and it has a pile of miles on it now with a set of brakes as it's only maintenance. I have a 20' PJ buggy hauler which I really like, although it's quality is not quite as nice as my dad's, it still has some nice features and works great. #1 downfall to a PJ trailer is the powder coat, it comes off in sheets. When it gets really bad someday I'll either get another or just sandblast it and start over.

I second bobinva get a gooseneck, pulls easy, and you dont have all the weight hanging on the rear bumper, and the front end of your pickup up in the air.

I have a PJ B5 buggy hauler 10000#. I like the way it trails. Mine is 20' long with a 2' dove tail. I pull it with a 3/4 ton Dodge.

I bought a new PJ 14,000# deckover in 2002. Great trailer, pulls nice and tracks good. Mostly use a Dodge 2500 in front of it. I bought a bumper pull (pintle hook) style because I sometimes use an FL70 Freightliner, or a Dodge 3500 with ladder racks to pull it. Goosenecks are great, but in my situation just not the best option. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

That's exactly the same trailer as I have, I like that I can haul a car, skidloader, or small to medium size tractor, and still put 160-200 bales of hay on it.

I have a Chevy Avalanche 2500 . It is a 3/4 ton with the 8.1L 496 big block chevy. Loaded I get between 10 and 12mpg. the 4l85e trans is suppose to more effecient than the allison in the pickups. Wife wanted a Avalanche I wanted 3/4 ton this is what we bought. comforable and has power.

I have been looking at a 20`long, 102" wide, tandem 7k, bumper pull, no dove tail, flip up ramp. I like the looks of a super wide low deck.

Make sure that you understand the difference between gross weight an the amount of weight you can load on the deck.
