Put thewww on the front. It wouldn't let put the page on here.

got to love that, you know one of the big rules of the road is ya got to know how high your truck is , rentals trucks its printed right on the box, by the drivers door, lol some of those company trucks are local looking so they should know about the bridge, how would you like to make that phone call to the boss?

11'8 is pretty low for a bridge. You would think somebody would
have figured out they need to lower the roadway. Railroad will
probably never raise the bridge.

I saw this on TV a guy that lives by there takes the vids after seeing it happen so often. & the worst thing is the bridge is clearly marked.A few trucks never even stop, like they didn't notice?I drive a straight truck that is 13'6" & have always tried to remind myself to watch for low bridges.
I always even myself half asleep driving along not payin attention & bam!!

Our boss took all our trailers and marked the trailer height on both front corners of trailer so we could see it in our mirrors. I ran 38 years and never topped a trailer and all we pulled were box trailers 12 ft.- 13.6's.

Saw the video on another news source a few weeks ago. Something mentioned was an old sewer pipe under the road. If the pipe would be lowered it would make a trap to catch solids & plug up.
Other choice would be to build a catch tank, lift pump & force main.

Couple of years ago, I was sitting in a parking lot waiting for an acquaintance to show up. I watched a box truck make a delivery at the school board next door, and as he drove out of the parking lot, he took a little access road around a ball field, not the main road, to exit the parking lot. Guess he wasn't paying attention to big old oak tree branch hanging out over the lane. The truck cab cleared it fine, but he hit it going about twenty, and it wasn't kind to the box. Most of the squirrels just grabbed their nuts and ran......

There use to be a truck eating bridge not that far from here. They have lowered the road more than once to deal with it but finally lowered it enough that it's at a legal height of 4.2M(13.8'). They should really consider lowering that bridge. That's a rather ridiclous thing to have on a road that is frequently used by trucks that are too high.

Quite a few years ago, we had a railroad bridge over rt 45 South of us at Norris City Il. It was marked at something silly like 10.5. When in reality in the center it was 14.0. But the road when down about 3 ft where it went under it. You could go under it with a straight truck, and even a 28 ft van trailer. There was a way around for trucks. My Father-in-law had got under it with even a 34 ft trailer. Bottom line one night he had a 48 ft van, and he tried to go through. We got the call and went down to get him and it was a sight to see. He had made it 1/2 the way through and was caught good. It destroyed the trailer, and had beat him up pretty good. I doubt he had his seat belt on.
